Major roll call votes by area members of Congress this week:
HOUSE
1.
TAX-CUT DISPUTE (HR 4297): Voting 185-207, the House defeated a Democratic recommendation that Alternative Minimum Tax relief be included in the final version of a tax-cut bill.
The nonbinding motion also urged that the final measure exclude a House-passed extension of lower capital gains and dividend rates beyond the end of 2008.
The legislation is now in House-Senate conference.
